JOB DESCRIPTIONNiles Township High School District 219 Paraeducator Tutor Classroom Core Purpose StatementThe job of Paraeducator Tutor Classroom Core is done for the purpose/s of providing support to the instructional program with specific responsibility for working with individual and/or small groups of students in assigned regular classroom; assisting with implementing plans for instruction; monitoring and reporting student behavior and performance; and providing information to appropriate school personnel.
This job reports to the Director of Subject Discipline.
Essential Functions Adapts classroom activities, assignments and/or materials under the direction of the supervisingteacher for the purpose of supporting and reinforcing classroom objectives and implementing IEPgoals.
Administers classroom assignments, tests, homework assignments, make-up work, etc.
for thepurpose of supporting teachers in the instructional process.
Assists students, individually or in small groups, with lesson assignments for the purpose ofpracticing and/or reinforcing learning concepts and assisting students in reaching academic goalsand grade level standards.
Communicates with supervising instructional staff and parents for the purpose of assisting inevaluating progress and/or implementing IEP objectives.
Facilitates student learning for the purpose of achieving success in academic skills throughdefined lesson plans under the direction of the supervising teacher.
Implements under the supervision of assigned teacher, research based interventions for thepurpose of presenting and/or reinforcing learning concepts.
Maintains classroom equipment, work area, and manual and electronic files and records for thepurpose of ensuring availability of items.
Monitors individual and/or groups of students in a variety of settings and provides time limitedclass supervision.

Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effectivefunctioning of the work unit pertaining to District 219.
Provides, under the supervision of assigned teacher, instruction to students in a variety ofindividual and group activities for the purpose of reinforcing instructional objectives and ensuringstudents success in school.
Reports observations and incidents relating to specific students for the purpose of communicatinginformation to appropriate instructional and/or administrative personnel.
Supports classroom teachers and other school personnel for the purpose of assisting them in theimplementation of curriculum and teaching methodologies.
Job Requirements:
Minimum QualificationsSkills, Knowledge and AbilitiesSKILLS are required to perform multiple tasks with a potential need to upgrade skills in order to meetchanging job conditions.
Specific skill based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functionsof the job include:
operating standard office equipment including using pertinent software applications;preparing and maintaining accurate records.
KNOWLEDGE is required to perform algebra and/or geometry; read a variety of manuals, writedocuments following prescribed formats, and/or present information to others; and solve practicalproblems.
Specific knowledge based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of thejob include:
concepts of grammar and punctuation; stages of child development and learning styles; andage appropriate activities; knowledge of board policy, district, state and federal regulations/laws.
ABILITY is required to schedule activities; gather and/or collate data; and use basic, job-relatedequipment.
Flexibility is required to work with others in a variety of circumstances; work with data utilizingdefined and similar processes; and operate equipment using standardized methods.
Ability is alsorequired to work with a wide diversity of individuals; work with a variety of data; and utilize a variety ofjob-related equipment.

Problemsolving with data requires independent interpretation of guidelines; and problem solving with equipment islimited to moderate.

ResponsibilityResponsibilities include:

Working EnvironmentThe usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physicaldemands:
occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/orcrawling and significant fine finger dexterity.
Generally the job requires 50% sitting, 20% walking, and30% standing.
The job is performed under conditions with some exposure to risk of injury and/or illness.
Experience Job related experience is required.
Education Targeted, job related education with study in job-related area.
Equivalency College degree, Professional Educator License (PEL) preferred.

Employees with a Bachelor's degree receive an additional $1.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
