Systems Engineer with Virtualization and some networking
This company has 65 users, 3 locations (Skokie, Chicago (O'Hare) and South Bend.
Occassional travel to O'Hare and South Bend.
Looking for a candidate with 5-7 years of systems and virtualization.
sharp candidate to be groomed to be the lead.
Will have Windows server, VMWare and/or Hyper-V (preferred) because they are moving from VMWare to Hyper-V, CISCO, networking, Firewall (Palo Alto) preferred, SAN storage.
They will be the backup to end-user support for escalations as needed from help desk.
They have 250-300 Servers, a combination of Windows and virtual HP hardware, SAN, VLANS, Cisco, 3 people in infrastructure.
On any given day you could be working on desktops, laptops, physical Servers, virtual Servers, Switches and/or Firewalls.
The best candidates will offer depth in a specific area (remote access, AD/GPO, for example), but have the ability, and desire, to work on a diverse set of challenges as an IT generalist supporting our entire IT ecosystem.
Our IT Operations team works directly with our internal end users, and periodically directly with our clients.
As a member of this team, your duties will range from help desk duties to more complex server break/fix tasks.
You will interact with our Information Security group, support our Software Development group, and be assigned research and development tasks.
As part of the IT Operations team, you will have assigned duties to help ensure the performance and scalability of our products.
The ability to work as part of a larger team will be critical to your success.

Virtualization - VMware vSphere 6.
x and Hyper-V
Operating Systems - Windows Server (2008 R2 to 2016), Windows 10 Enterprise, Windows 8.
